Unless you have good off-road tyres or a mountain bike, the climb to the Col de Granon ends at the Col. It is possible to descend to Val des Prés but the road is a dirt track. Across the valley and south of the Col de Granon, there are impressive views of the Ecrins massif and the Serre Chevalier ski runs.
